MapleStory: Fight for Freedom! Pt2 (Not based on the game)
Meeting Talax
Alright…pt2 is up and running! I have officially decided that this story…..will lead to shounen-ai! So stay back if you hate it! Anyway…I’ve made some changes, so this is how it goes:

~*~ means change of scene and person’s P.O.V
…P.O.V means the person’s Point Of View, which means that you have to see the scene through their view.
P.S: Rated for my sickening mind….PG-13. Part should be censored, but I can’t care less!
Let the story begin! (Begins in ReiKon’s P.O.V)

I turned to look at the table clock beside my bed. ‘Rats! It’s already 3 in the morning…’ It had been 3 hours since I left Slash and b4nSinzz at the hallway and I hadn’t slept a wink since then. I looked over to a certain jacket left on my chair…Maybe that’s why I couldn’t sleep. Frustrated by all my thoughts, I turned away from the jacket and shut my eyes, hoping that sleep will soon overcome me…

~*~
A hand slapped across his cheek, sending the boy hurtling towards the ground. The boy quietly endured the pain as he stood up again, only to be sent to the ground again by a whip meeting his back. The hand grabbed his tuft of hair, pulling him up from the ground roughly. “Don’t you dare try to escape again…” The hand pushed the boy back to the ground again. “Those tattoos on your cheek signify that you’re mine…” Once again, the hand pulled him up by his hair. “So don’t disobey me…”

I bolted out of bed immediately. Beads of sweat pelted down my face. Hesitantly, I stood up and walked over to the dresser mirror. Slowly, I raised my hand to my cheek, tracing the image of the blue triangles. I hadn’t had a good night’s sleep since my escape all because of this dream…Am I still afraid of him?

Suddenly, I noticed that I had been crying. I growled at myself for being such a weakling. Talax would have mocked me if they saw me in this state…My eyes traveled down to my bandaged arm. Luckily, everyone thinks that I got this injury when I was fighting against evil. I unwrapped my bandages and settled my arm on the table. Scars and unhealed wounds littered my skin. I grimaced at the thought of being back with him……

From my belt compartment, I took out a fresh roll of bandages and bandaged my arm again. I smiled slightly and stood up from my kneeling position. Though the scar on my back hurt, I tried to ignore it. Images of the whip came back to me, and I whimpered unknowingly. I had escaped from him, so why am I still so scared?

-Morning-

Rei’s P.O.V

As the morning rays shone into my room, I buried my head under my pillow, hoping that I could still go back to sleep. Suddenly, a voice spoke through my personal computer speaker system. “Wake up, Sleepyhead!” I looked up to see a happy – looking Slash on the screen. “Not now, Slash…” Slash frowned. “Wake up, or the pancakes goes bye-bye!” My eyes shot open in an instant. Jumping out of bed, I pointed at the screen and shouted, “Don’t you dare finish the pancakes!” Slash laughed and turned around. “Alright, I won’t! Just get your lazy-self dressed and get to the grand hall for breakfast!” With that, the screen turned blank.

As I got dressed, my eyes fell on Cerveau’s jacket. ‘Hmm…I should return him the jacket….’ Grabbing my hair band, I quickly did a neat ponytail of my hair. Then, I went out to return Cerveau’s jacket.

At his door, I knocked on it gingerly. “Cerveau?” Through the door, I heard a few mumbles and finally the door whizzed open. “Hn…Rei…Can I help you?” I held out his jacket. “Thanks for lending it to me last night.” He managed a slight smile before taking it. “No prob…Tell the elders that I won’t be joining them for breakfast.” I nodded my head and turn to leave. Suddenly, the sentence that he said to me last night popped into my brain. I turned around again. “Hey…about the sentence-…” I noticed that the door had been shut. ‘Darn….’

At the grand hall, littleHiff and the rest were waiting for me to begin their breakfast. As the best team, we were the first to eat and the first to go on patrol. “Hurry, ReiKon! Or we’ll begin without you!” I grumbled and hastily ran up to the table. “Alright! I’m here already, so eat!” Slash grinned and dug into the food. I picked out a few pancakes before he managed to get all.

When breakfast was finished, we went into the meeting room for our new mission. To my surprise, Cerveau and Holy was with the elders discussing about something. littleHiff cleared her throat fervently to get their attention. Finally, they noticed us and began our briefing.

“Ok…From what we’ve managed to get out from the ‘Master’s advisor, the ‘Master’ is currently in Showa Town of Zipangu. We need to get there and eliminate him as fast as possible. Since we cannot come as they have put up a defense that doesn’t allow us to enter, HolyPhoenixX and Cerveau will go with you guys, is that clear?” We nodded our heads in unison.

“Alright!” Slasherxx52 shouted. “Everyone, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Catch the boss and you’ll shoot to fame!” Slash nodded his head vigorously. “I won’t let you down, Father!” Slasherxx52 bent down to pat his head. “That’s my boy!” I could see Cerveau smirking slightly behind him. Suddenly, littleHiff raised her hand. “If you don’t mind me asking, how do we get there?”

Everyone turned to Cerveau. “We get there through this….” He threw a rock in the air and at the same time, recited something. Suddenly, there was a ‘POOF!’ sound and lo and behold! A door stood there, a sign over it saying, ‘Shortcut to Showa Town’. Slash whistled. “Cool…” Slasherxx52 pushed his kids towards it. “Come on! Make us proud!” We nodded our heads and went through the door, Slash first, followed by b4nSinzz, littleHiff, me, Holy and then Cerveau.

As soon as we stepped out, a gust of wind hit us. littleHiff handed us some cloaks. “Here…we will be able to travel without any suspicions…” Half-believing her, I wore the cloak and set off with the rest.

Somehow, I found myself staring at the bleak buildings and the paint-torn walls. “Ugh…this place is unbearable! How could anyone live in this dump?” Holy turned to look at me. “Ooh…looks like a certain someone has high taste!” I growled lowly. Behind me, Cerveau was looking around warily. Strangely, he was the only one who didn’t wear the cloak.

As Holy and the rest walked in the front, I slowed down in my pace just enough to walk ‘in-tune’ with Cerveau. “Why aren’t you wearing the cloak?” He looked down at me, smiling softly. “I don’t need to…Nobody knows me, anyway…” I nodded, half understanding what he said. “Right…” He let out a small chuckle. “You don’t understand what I mean, don’t you?” I looked at him, amazed. “D-did you…just read my thoughts?” He nodded. “Yeah, you could say so….I’m not doing it on purpose, though…My mind just knows what another is thinking.” I nodded again. “Ah…”

Soon, it became sunset. We had hidden in the alleyway waiting for night to fall. As the others rested, I stood on patrol. Suddenly, I heard a noise from behind a trash bin. Cautiously, I went over to check. As I looked over the trash bin, I felt eyes on me, but before I could turn, my head crashed with something and I fainted….

When I woke up, I found someone staring at me. “Ah…so you’ve finally woken up.” As my vision cleared, I managed to picture the ‘someone’ clearly: a redhead. Immediately, I tried to move my hands, only to find them tied together. The redhead smirked. “Don’t even bother. Those ropes are as good as chains to you.” I growled lowly. “Who the hell are you?”

The redhead smirked once again. “Talax …at your service. Apprentice of the ‘Master’.” I smirked. “Ah, so you’re his lackey.” That made the redhead mad, and suddenly, he was nearer to me then before. He tilted my head slightly to make me look at him. “Hmm….I could make some good use out of you…” I growled again and he smirked again. I’m beginning to think that he only knows how to smirk….

“Feisty, aren’t you?” I clenched my teeth tightly. I didn’t like the fact that he was so close, let alone the fact that I’m tied to a fu**ing post and is totally defenseless. “What happened? Cat got your tongue?” I growled. He smirked YET again, this time his thumb brushing over my cheeks and lips. I blushed when his thumb stopped at my lips. Suddenly aware of my blush, I quickly growled and tried to bite his thumb.

Talax withdrew his hand in time. He chuckled a little. “Heh…listen kid, I’ll set you free if….” He took out a capsule from his pocket. “….if you eat this.” I eyed the capsule suspiciously. There had to be a catch, but I was desperate to get out of this mess. Who cares if I go high? “Fine.”

Talax’s grin grew bigger and more devious. “Good…now open your mouth….” I did as he said and he popped the capsule into my mouth. I swallowed it in a flash, opening my mouth so that it could be confirmed that I had swallowed it. “Now could you untie me?” Talax smirked. Not a good sign. He untied me and the minute I tried to walk, I found out that I couldn’t!

I tried to move my hands and they could not work either. “What the hell was in that capsule!?” Talax’s smirk grew larger. “ZP0-1221….Numbs the body instantly….So it did work…” I growled. I had fallen for the bait! Suddenly, Talax crushed his lips onto mine. In shock, I subconsciously opened my mouth. Talax took it as an opportunity to invade in with his tongue.

After several minutes, Talax broke away, half-grinning, half-smirking. I growled angrily though I knew that I couldn’t do anything to help myself. He rested his forehead against mine. “Don’t worry…the drug wears off after a few hours…” His eyes glinted dangerously. “And I can do a lot in a few hours…” Suddenly, I felt fingers running down my shirt. ‘Shit…..’ He leant in, mouth trailing the outline of my ear. “There’s no one to save you now…Not even your hero…” I closed my eyes, letting him take over me. ‘Help me, anyone…..please…Cerveau, please…if you can hear me…please…help me!’

Cerveau’s P.O.V

I gasped. “Rei!” Darting towards a seemingly uninhabited building, I forced apart the wooden entrance and ran in. (Note: Cerveau uses magic to attack anything.) Soon, dim lights lit up the area. I frowned. This place hadn’t changed since I escaped. Rooms saying ‘Experiments’ and ‘Testing’ soon began to show up. Suddenly, I heard footsteps. I hid in the shadows, hoping the person would not notice me.

Luckily, the person did not. He just went into the ‘Experiments’ room. I peered cautiously into the room and strained to hear what the scientists’ were saying. The one that had just entered began to talk about some new prisoner that Talax had just captured around the area. The other chortled, and said that Talax had brought the prisoner into his room. Furiously, I leapt back and started running towards Talax’s room. That bastard had better not be doing what I think he’s doing….

Soon, I reached Talax’s room. It was locked, as usual. I pressed my ear against the door. I managed to pick out some sounds and muffled whispers and I could sense Rei’s presence in there. Using all my magical strength, I blasted the door open and leapt in. Talax was there, along with Rei.

Talax snarled upon seeing me. “Well, well….look who came back….” I frowned. “Cut the slack. You know why I’m here.” Talax grinned. “You came for him, didn’t you?” He pulled Rei towards him. “Too bad! He’s my toy now….” I narrowed my eyes. “You gave him Substance ZP0-1221, didn’t you?”

Talax smirked. “Clever….” Suddenly, he dashed towards me with his weapon. I managed to block as he made a swipe at me. “Still the same slow redhead I know…” Talax growled. “Shut up!” He turned and dashed towards me. I dodged and attacked, but he suddenly disappeared! ‘Shit! A fake!?’

Suddenly, I saw a shadow hovering over me. I quickly jumped over to the side as Talax came crashing down. “Is that the best you’ve got? You seriously stink, man…” Talax stood up, dusting away dirt on his pants. “Yeah, well…Fine, You win this time…” He went over to Rei and heaved him into his arms. “Sorry for the fright I gave you, kitten…”

I raised an eyebrow. “What, you even named him?” Talax looked at me, scowling. “Why not? He looks like a cat, anyway…” He handed Rei over to me. Rei looked at me, clearly confused by what we were saying. The substance must have had numbed his vocal cords too….

Talax looked at me expectantly. “So…have you managed to find a way to get me out of this shithole?” I smirked. “Are you willing to bust out with us?” Talax’s eyes shone, but suddenly he looked around fearfully. “But…what about him?” I growled. “Forget about him…I need to get Rei back A.S.A.P…..thanks to the damage you’ve done to him….” Talax grinned sheepishly before gesturing to the door. “Well? What are we waiting for?”

Outside the building, Talax and I were hiding in the alleyway as guards from the building ran around looking for us. “Thanks to you, I nearly got captured!” Talax breathed in heavily. “Well, at least we got out, right?” I growled and swore under my breath. I pushed Rei towards him. “Your turn to carry him….” He frowned, and pushed Rei back into my arms. “You’re treating him like a parcel, you know?”

I looked at him square in the eyes. “Well, who asked you to feed him the numbing substance?” Suddenly, I felt a small tug on my shirt. Rei had managed to gain control of one hand and was currently tugging on my shirt. It was obvious that he didn’t want us to fight. “C’mon, we need to get to the ‘Freedom Fighters’ camp.”

Back at the camp, I woke up Holy and the rest. They had apparently slept past the due time. Holy looked suspiciously at Talax. “And he is….?” I jerked a thumb at him. “Him? He’s my friend…..he was captured by the ‘Master’.” Holy looked at me disbelievingly. “Y-you mean….you went into the ‘Master’s headquarters?” I nodded my head. Then, she turned to look at Rei, who was still trying to get his other body parts to work.

“Well….what happened to ReiKon?” I looked at him, then back at her. “He was numbed by someone…” I cast a side-glance at Talax, who immediately shrunk into Slash and b4nSinzz’s shadows. “I-We need to get him back to base. He needs medical attention….If he had am overdose of the numbing substance, I….suspect that he might not be able to control some parts of his body.”

I turned to look at Talax, who should probably see his life flashing before his eyes right now. “Isn’t that right, Talax?” He gulped. “Err…I guess so…” Holy shrugged. “Ok…you guys are the masters, I guess…” She turned to Talax. “What’s your level?” Talax grinned and flashed a peace-sign. “I’m level 210!!” If this was a comic, I would probably see a sweat-drop on Holy’s forehead. “Err….Ok…” I rolled my eyes and threw my magic rock into the air, chanted a few verses, and voila! A door was there.

I grinned and opened the door, gesturing the little ones to enter. littleHiff eyed the door suspiciously. “How do you that it’s gonna lead us back to the headquarters?” I patted her hair, enjoying the fact that she obviously did not like it. “Cause’ you should have more faith in your elders…” She frowned and pushed Slash through. “Hey!”
As a few seconds past and Slash didn’t come back, littleHiff finally decided to go through, followed by b4nSinzz. Talax was about to go through, but I stopped him. Holy pointed at Rei. “He still can’t move…” I nodded. “Right…go in before it closes or the guards find us…” Holy looked at me. “What guards?” Then, it finally clicked in her brain. “Oh…shit.” She ran through the portal immediately.

I looked at Rei, who expectantly looked up at me. I sighed, and picked him up. “C’mon, ‘kitty’….” Obviously he didn’t like that nickname as he reached over and yanked my ear with his hand. “Ow!” I looked down at him. “I’ll get you for that….” Talax smirked. “You two lovebirds done? The portal’s gonna close soon, y’know!?” I walked towards the portal, where Talax was impatiently waiting. “You’d better be grateful I got you out of there…” Talax rolled his eyes. “Whatever…”

As I stepped through the portal, I noticed that it led to the meeting room, where unfortunately, all the elders were waiting. Raddo stepped in front of me. “What happened to Rei, Cerveau?” I growled. “He was numbed….there’s a possibility of having a overdose…” Raddo frowned. “So what?” I frowned. “He might not be able to move if he has an overdose, dammit!” I think I said that a little too loud, as now Raddo’s ‘Galaxy Hat’ is flying out of the door. Slasher whistled. “That’s a lot of magical strength….” Raddo scowled at me. “Fine.” He gestured to littleHiff. “Bring Rei to the medical room now.”

littleHiff nodded her head and I gave Rei to her. She then disappeared out of the room. Raddo glared darkly at me, before turning to Talax. “And who is this….redhead?” I looked over at Talax, who was trying hard not to kill Raddo. “He’s Talax, my friend and level 210 chief bandit. He was captured by ‘Master’ a few years ago….He might be able to assist you guys in hunting down ‘Master’.” Raddo nodded, and looked at me somewhat cunningly. “Since we’re currently short of rooms, you’ll have to share your room with him.”

I swear….. was he doing this on purpose!? However, I managed to keep my cool and nodded my head. “Good. You have a lot to do tomorrow, so get some rest.” As if he cared….I nodded my head and gestured Talax to follow me. We exited the meeting room and walked in the quiet hallway. I growled angrily. “Damn that sickening priest…” Talax was nearly as angry as me. “Did you hear what he called me!?” I cast a side-glance at Talax. “I know perfectly well what he called you….He hates homosexuals, by the way…”

Talax looked questioningly at me. “So that means…..he knows who you are?” I nodded grimly. “Ouch, dude….” I stopped at my door. “Just make sure he doesn’t find out about you…” I slotted in the card-key and the door whizzed open. “C’mon, you heard what Raddo said, we have a big day tomorrow, so we might as well get some sleep.”

Talax nodded his head and walked into my room, only to stop when he saw the bed. He eyed the bed up and down and turned to me. “I think he knows…he set us up, didn’t he?” I nodded. He grinned slyly. “Well then…are you going to share the bed?” I tossed a pillow at him. “In your dreams, pervert….You can sleep on the bed, I need to do a little visit to someone…” Talax grinned smugly. “Who? Your boyfriend?” I scowled. “He’s not my boyfriend…” When I turned, I felt my scowl turn into a smirk. “At least….not yet…”

~*~
Damn that stupid Talax! Thanks to him, I currently in the medical room undergoing a scan! When the scanning was done, I was shifted over to the medical bed. littleHiff was waiting for me. I waved at her using my good hand. In return, she waved back.

She pulled a chair over to me and sat down. “Rei, Father says that Cerveau was the one who did this to you…is it true?” I shook my head immediately. She looked surprised and then her gaze softened. “You don’t need to stick up for him….” I shook my head again, this time using my hand to show that I was telling the truth. She nodded her head. “Ok, Rei…I believe you….I’ll try to change Father’s mind…Goodnight…” She left the room soon after.

Left in the medical room alone, I decided to test out whether my other body parts could work. After testing, I found out that both my arms could move and I could talk, well, that is if you count a few struggled sounds and grunts as talking. Sighing, I propped myself up against the bed.

Looking around the room, I noticed that there wasn’t much to see. There were a few chairs, a table, a door leading to the toilet, a window with a Cerveau leaning against the wall beside it, a vase of flowers-wait a minute! A Cerveau!?!? I turned to the window to see an amused-looking Cerveau staring at me.

“Took you so long to figure that I’m here?” I scowled. He came over to sit beside me. “I guess that you want to know about what happened before, right?” I nodded, wishing that my voice could work. He grinned. “I guess so…Where to start then…” I grabbed his hand, tracing the word ‘Talax’ on it. He smirked. “Talax? Ok…”

“Talax was…..and still is my friend. He got caught by ‘Master’ the same time as me. He decided to play along with the ‘Master’s wishes while I repeatedly tried to escape. Finally, a few weeks ago, I did. But before I did, I had promised Talax that I’d rescue him when the time was right…So…here we are then…”

I shook my head, once again tracing words onto his palm. He thought about what I had written for a second. “You…want to know why Talax kissed you.” I nodded my head. He let out a short chuckle for awhile. “Heh…I thought you’d figure it out by now…” I thought over what he said for a second when the answer dawned upon me. I wrote onto his palm again. He nodded, confirming what I had written.

A sharp gasp drew out of me. Cerveau looked bemusedly at me. “Looks like your vocal cords are starting to function…” He looked over at the clock, then back at me. “Well, you need your rest…” He pulled away his hand slowly and used it to pat my head. “Goodnight…lil’ kitty.” I smiled slightly. Somehow, I’m beginning to like that nickname…

~*~
-Midnight-

As I stared at Talax sleeping on my bed, my thoughts drifted to the ‘Master’, or rather, my ‘Master’. He had abused me and Talax for far too long….Suddenly, Talax opened his eyes and scanned the room frantically. When his eyes laid on me, he heaved a sigh of relief.

“Whew….I thought it was just a dream…” I nodded slightly, fully understanding what he meant by ‘it’. Talax got out from the covers. “You can’t sleep?” I nodded again, expecting some kind of perverted sentence to come out from his mouth. “Want to sleep with me?”

Yep, I won that bet with my mind. I shot a glare at Talax, who grinned slyly in return. “C’mon, you want you want to….” I growled lowly. “You remind me of him…” Immediately, his sly smile turned into a horrified expression. “Argh! Bad mind! Bad mind!” He got out of the bed quickly and nearly rammed into the wall had I not been kind enough to stop him using my magic.

“Don’t worry. You’re not getting as….you know…as him.” He turned to look back at me. “Really?” I sighed and nodded. He sighed in relief. “Thank you, Lord!” He turned a seat to face me and sat down. “Hey…what’s wrong?” I looked up at him bemusedly. “Since when did you care so much?” Talax reached over and ruffled my hair. “Since my buddy busted me out and got a slight scolding from the head of ‘Freedom Fighters’.” I smirked. “Slight? More like internal scolding and mocking….”

Talax’s face became even more serious. “So it is about that…..that pig, isn’t it?” I shook my head. “Nope…not about Raddo…” Talax seemed confused. “Then who?” I shrugged. “Who else?” Talax thought about this for a moment and then his eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Rei?” Now, for that, I couldn’t really answer. My depression had been solely feeding on him and the ‘Master’, so I couldn’t really say that he wasn’t in the wrong….

“…Not really” Talax grinned and leant back on his seat. “Ah…but it still has to do with him.” I looked at him bluntly. “No shit, Sherlock…” He frowned and looked at me square in the eyes. “The Cerveau I knew never used swear words. Something is really bugging you, isn’t it?”

I stood up so abruptly that the chair fell over. “No! Nothing’s bothering me!” Sarcasm was practically dripping from my words. I stared angrily at Talax, who surprisingly never even flinched. “Of course something’s bothering me! Or rather, some things! I’m not always like you, you know!? I’m stoic and crude while you’re so carefree and bubbly. You don’t even seem to know what the hell the consequences will be when we are re-captured!”

Talax glared icily at me and slowly stood up. I glared back at him, expecting him to hit me or something. Surprisingly, he didn’t. Instead, he lifted his hand and ran it over my cheeks. Only then did I realize that I had been crying. I lifted up my own hand and tried to wipe away the teardrops, only to be stopped by Talax.

“So…that’s been bugging you, huh?” I nodded slightly. Suddenly, he enveloped me in a hug. Not a bone-crushing one, mind you, but a comforting kind of hug. “Don’t worry…We’ll pull through this.” I didn’t respond but cried silently. He played with my hair idly before lifting my head up. “Heard what I said? He’s not going to get us. Not. Ever. Again.” He brushed his hand over my face again, wiping away my tears. “And don’t cry. You’ll seem helpless, even with those triangles.”

(Author: I will change to a narrative point, for I need to say the following events in that way.)

Narrative P.O.V

Cerveau stepped back, pushing away Talax’s hand in the process. Talax stared amusedly at him. “Looks like your ego came back to Earth…” Cerveau growled. “Shut up Talax….Get some rest, or I’ll screw you tomorrow…” Talax grinned sneakily. “I’d love to get screwed, especially by you.” Cerveau grimaced. He knew that Talax would think that way. “Screwed as in ‘I’ll bash you up tomorrow if you don’t wake up early’. Now goodnight.”

He turned his chair around to face the dresser, folding his arms on his chest. “And that never happened….” A small pressure came to his cheeks, and disappeared as quickly as it came. “Heh…And that also never happened. Goodnight.”

Unknown to them, all this that had happened was been captured on a nearby hidden camera…..

A priest grinned evilly as he watched the events. Then, he turned to face another screen. “All is going to plan, Master.” The face on the screen smirked. “Very good Raddo….Those fools thought they could escape from me….Well, they’ll pay the price when they’re recaptured…” He pointed at Raddo. “You know what to do tomorrow, right? Bring the two to me, along with the cat-boy.”

Raddo looked at face, surprised. “R-rei? Why would you want him?” The face scowled. “Do not question what I say! Just bring them to me….” He clenched his fists tightly. “That fool Kaizer* will pay for disobeying me….” Raddo bowed. “As you wish, Master…..”

To be continued…….

*This was Cerveau’s name when he went around the Maple World saving people. He has no memory of being called that because when he was captured by the ‘Master’, a chip was implanted in his head to make him forget that name. But of course, I’m going to get him to remember that…….

So….Now that Talax’s in the picture, the next chapter should be about a little struggle between Talax, Cerveau and the ‘Master’!
